Monica Aguilar crowned Miss Intercontinental USA 2019.     She will represent the USA at the 48th annual world competition in November in India.

Purpose:

As a medical student, I am always trying to widen my horizons and find new ways to expand my knowledge so that I become stronger, wiser, and more experienced. I believe it is the same case with having an advocacy that I am passionate about, which in my case is fighting against violence in our nation. Selected as the national queen provides me a national platform from which to make the voices of the victims of gun violence heard. I personally will benefit immensely from the opportunity, privilege, and personal growth that comes with promoting the mission and brand of the Miss Intercontinental pageant.

The Miss Intercontinental pageant gives women an international platform to promote diversity, tourism, and education. It is the the titleholder’s duty to promote the brand of Miss Intercontinental USA. As the national titleholder, it will be my job and purpose to travel the country educating the youth on matters regarding violence in this nation and anti-gun laws. Having graduated from Stoneman Douglas, the Parkland shooting school, I was directly affected by this mass shooting and have taken action in my community to educate students on these matters in hopes of creating a violence free future and at the same time promoting the brand of Miss Intercontinental USA
